Stefanie True, sopran, has performed extensively
around Europe, North, and Central America, appearing in operas,
oratorios, festivals, and solo recitals. As a soloist she has
appeared in the major works of Bach including St. Matthew Passion,
St. John Passion, Mass in B Minor, Christmas Oratorio,
and several cantatas, as well as Mozart’s Requiem and Coronation Mass,
Vivaldi’s Gloria, Graun’s Der Tod Jesu, Handel’s La Resurrezione,
and Faure’s Requiem. Past opera experience includes roles such
as Cephise in Campra’s L’Europe Gallante with William Christie
(Ambronay Festival), Poppea in Handel’s Agrippina, Belinda in
Purcell’s Dido and Aneas (York University), as well as various roles
in Purcell’s The Fairy Queen, and Adelaide in Handel’s Lotario
(Opera Concertante). Her discography includes Aci in Handel’s Aci,
Galatea e Polifemo, Maddalena in Handel’s La Resurrezione, and two
solo recordings of Handel’s early Roman Cantatas, all under the
direction of Marco Vitale with Contrasto Armonico. She also
recently celebrated the release of a recording of Lully’s
Ballets & Recits Italiens under the direction of Fabio Bonizzoni
with La Risonanza for the Glossa Label. Stefanie is currently
awaiting the release of two CDs with the Hungarian Baroque Orchestra,
Cappella Savaria, of English cantatas by Arne, as well as
previously unknown ’revolution arias’ of Shield and Attwood.
She has also performed solo concerts at such well-known festivals
as the Utrecht festival of Early Music (Netherlands), and the
Stresa Festival (Italy). She has received scholarships to participate
in several young artist programs, including Tafelmusik Baroque Summer
Institute (Canada), Gregynog Festival Masterclasses (Wales),
and the Britten-Pears Young Artist Program (UK). Stefanie completed
her BFA in music at York University (Toronto, Canada) studying with
the Canadian mezzo-soprano, Catherine Robbin in 2003. In 2007 she
completed her B.Mus. in Early Music and an Artist’s Diploma in Classical
Singing at the Royal Conservatoire, Den Haag, studying with Diane Folano,
Barbara Pearson, Jill Feldman, and Michael Chance. She obtained her MA in
Early Music at the same institution in 2009.
Patrycja Domagalska (Harpsichord):
Harpsichordist and continuo player graduated in harpsichord at the Music Academy
in Lodz, (prof. E. Piasecka) and Royal Conservatory in The Hague where she obtained
her MA (Fabio Bonizzoni and Patrick Ayrton) specializing in harpsichord,
chamber music and basso continuo. She received numerous scholarships participating in
masterclasses such as: Ringve Museum (Norway), Academy of Early Music in Wilanow (Poland),
International Handel-Akademie in Karlsruhe (Germany), and Summer Academy in Innsbrück (Austria),
working with L. Stawarz, N. Parle, L.U.Mortensen, J.Christensen, K.Haugsand and W. Klosiewicz.
She made a summer stage in the Academie Musicale in Villecroze (France), working with H.Dreyfus,
Formation Profesionelle in Royaumont (France) with B. Rannou under direction of G.Lesne,
and Orchestral workshops in the Ateleier departemental de musique ancienne
de l’ Aisne in France under direction of F. Bonizzoni. In 2008 she performed in "Euridice" by J. Peri
under the direction of Ch. Pluhar. She also has a keen interest in baroque dance, has had lessons
with Maria Angad-Gaur and cooperated with the Nederlands Historisch Dans Theaterensemble.
With this group she appeared in the production Concerten van Mijnheer de Liz in 2009 performing
dance music in different venues in Holland.
Miss Domagalska was a scholar of the Arts and Culture’s Polish Minister.
She is the founder of Ensemble Barocum (www.ensemblebarocum.com), with whom
she performed during fringe concerts in Oude Muziek Festival Utrecht 2007/2008/2009, and Fringe
Barcelona 2008. She appeared in many festivals and venues in Holland and Poland among others:
Handel Year, kasteel concerten, Festival van Reincken, Incanto Middelburg, Ars Musica, Schiller Theater,
Festival Europa Consociata, Malta Arts Festival. Miss Domagalska was selected to tour with The European
Union Baroque Orchestra (EUBO) in 2010 under the direction of L. U. Mortensen, T. Koopman and Ch. Pluhar.
Mateusz Kowalski (Viola da Gamba):
Started his viola da gamba education in Conservatory
of Lutoslawski in Cracow. After two years he became a
student of Music Academy in Cracow and as a member of
this school he studied in Royal Conservatory in den
Haag in the scope of Socrates-Erasmus internationale
exchange. He participated in numerous gamba courses
with Paulo Pandolfo, Marianne Muller, Petr Wagner and
in orchestral projects with Jacques Ogg. He is working
with two polish early music ensembles:Flori Pari
(renaissance music) and Consortium Sedinum. With USKO
student orchestra and choir from Utrecht he made a
tour to Spain this year playing Matthew Passion. He is
a director of chamber choir Perfugium (Cracow)
specializing in early liturgical music.
